So Let’s Begin…
THE SOUND OF SILENCE MORNING MEDITATION SCRIPT
Close your eyes and find your focus,
Train your mind on this thought for the day:
What does true silence sound like,
And how can you bring it your way?
PAUSE…
Is silence really silence,
Or simply the absence of what we don’t want to hear?
If we’re free from the sounds that trouble us,
Do the noises that remain somehow change?
PAUSE…
Birdsong may not be silent,
But it’s soothing and lovely on the ear.
Blowing wind and rushing water calm us,
As they carry us to a peaceful place.
PAUSE…
Perhaps silence exists in the ear of the beholder,
Different for each and every one.
A way to escape inside ourselves,
To find a bubble of tranquility.
PAUSE…
So what do you want in your bubble?
What sounds envelop you in serenity?
And just as important, what can’t you abide,
When you’re needing some time for yourself?
PAUSE…
Take a deep breath and let your mind wander,
Imagine your acoustic nirvana.
What sounds let you travel beyond yourself?
What helps you connect with the universe?
LONG PAUSE…
Perhaps your ideal is as quiet as deep space,
A star-filled sea in which you can float.
Or maybe it hums with cricket song,
A vibration that settles itself in your chest.
PAUSE…
Whatever type of silence you land on,
Whatever stillness folds you in its embrace,
Promise yourself you’ll seek it out,
That you’ll reward yourself with its peace.
PAUSE…
You deserve the chance to step away
From the noises clamoring for your attention.
You have the right to turn toward quiet,
And hear the grateful whispers from within.
Namaste, Beautiful.
