THE FOREST: CONNECTING TO THE CALM MEDITATION SCRIPT
Breathe in a
Deep cleansing breath,
A breath that fills you
And brings tranquility to you.
PAUSE
And while breathing,
Just let your shoulders drop,
And any tension you feel,
Dissipate–
Just melt away.
PAUSE
Now, see if you can imagine
Standing at the edge of a forest,
Lush green,
Full of sights, sounds and smells.
And now, take a step into the forest.
PAUSE
As you step into the forest,
A calm washes over you,
A feeling of infinite peace.
Embrace the feeling.
PAUSE
While walking,
You notice the tiny twigs
That snap and crackle
Beneath your feet
Like a calming, musical rhythm.
Listen to the rhythm..
PAUSE
Moving farther into the forest,
Your lungs fill
With the cool, misty air
Of the woods,
And it feels peaceful
And expansive.
Breathe in the misty air.
PAUSE
Now, imagine the scent
Of the forest–
Sweet-smelling pine,
Woody plants–
All tickling your nose.
Enjoy the fragrances.
PAUSE
And, now you reach out
And run your hand along
The trunk of an ancient pine,
Feeling the ridges and valleys
Of the bark.
And this grounds you.
Stay grounded.
PAUSE
Now, imagine yourself
Standing in the middle
Of the forest,
Blending with it.
Connecting with it.
Allowing it to bring
Its calm to you.
Experience the calm.
PAUSE
After a few moments,
It’s time to leave the forest,
But as you walk back to its edge,
You know the forest lives in you.
You are one with the calm
Of the forest.
