Today’s morning meditation is an opportunity to really listen with presence and empathy, so you can take this practice into the rest of your day.
Good morning, beautiful,
This week, we’re meditating about listening.
“We think we listen, but rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know.”
This quote by Carl Rogers speaks to the art of listening. The ability to give your full attention to something, to truly feel connected to what you hear, is powerful.
We can experience this by simply listening to nature around us and feeling deeply connected to it. And by truly listening to a loved one without an agenda.
So this morning’s meditation will be an opportunity to really listen with presence and empathy, so you can take this practice into the rest of your day.
So Let’s Begin…

THE ART OF LISTENING MORNING MEDITATION SCRIPT
So close your eyes if you haven’t already,
And relax your body.
Ease yourself into comfort,
Letting your breath slow you down.
PAUSE…
Let your mind relax,
And feel your outbreath release any thoughts or emotions that may be coming up,
As you come deeply into this moment.
PAUSE…
Breathe,
And invite yourself to simply be here.
And listen.
PAUSE…
Listen to the noises around you.
Without judging them,
Or allowing your mind to tell stories about them.
Just be with the noises for a bit.
LONG PAUSE…
Now bring your attention inside of you,
And listen to your body.
The sounds of your breathing,
The noises coming from your stomach, or your mouth,
Or from the movement of your body on whatever is supporting it.
Just be here,
And listen.
LONG PAUSE…
Now see if you feel the empathy,
The connection to what’s around you.
The connection with your body.
This gift of presence is yours to infuse into your life today,
As you listen to others,
As you listen to yourself,
As you listen to Mother Nature,
So you can better understand,
So you can better connect,
So you can be a potent force for change.
Namaste, Beautiful
