Take a nice, deep cleansing breath in through your nose,
And exhale slowly through your mouth
PAUSE…
Relax into the gentle cadence of your breathing,
Letting it slow you down,
And soften you.
LONG PAUSE…
You’re feeling the squeeze,
The pressures of life.
The tasks are piling up,
The list of things keeps growing,
Until you feel the suffocating weight upon you.
PAUSE…
Find your breath again,
And imagine yourself gathering them all up.
All the things on your to-do list,
All the goals that are pressing down on you,
All the responsibilities you hold.
PAUSE…
Gather them up,
Then tighten and squeeze your entire body.
Tighten your fists,
Clench your jaw,
Harden your belly,
Lengthen your legs.
PAUSE…
Hold it all here for just a moment longer,
Now everything you’ve gathered,
Everything you’ve been holding,
Everything that’s tightened…
Release it all on your outbreath.
And feel yourself soften,
And melt.
