So Let’s Begin…

RADICAL ACCEPTANCE MEDITATION SCRIPT

 

“Radical acceptance rests on letting go of the illusion of control and a willingness to notice and accept things as they are right now, without judgment.”  Marsha Linehan

 

When we can do this, we show ourselves the deepest form of love by radically accepting ourselves for who we are, and also by releasing ourselves from the chains of judgment.

 

So breathe in deeply,

 

As you come into comfort. 

 

Let your eyes fall heavy,

 

Your shoulders drop,

 

And your body relax.

 

PAUSE…

 

Imagine yourself staring down upon the water,

 

Its surface smooth like glass.

 

As your face is reflected back to you,

 

Hear your voice whisper, 

 

I accept all of you.

 

Just as you are.

 

PAUSE…

 

Breathe in this love.

 

LONG PAUSE…

 

Now notice small waves have begun to ripple through the water,

 

Upsetting the mirror,

 

And disturbing your vision.

 

PAUSE…

 

Breathe in calm.

 

Breathe in acceptance.

 

And look at the water again,

 

With fresh eyes that see the beauty of the waves. 

 

LONG PAUSE…

 

Every breath is an opportunity for you to accept yourself,

 

Accept what is,

 

And feel the freedom it creates.
