So Let’s Begin…

LISTENING TO WHAT HURTS MEDITATION SCRIPT
Close your eyes
and allow yourself to arrive in stillness.
PAUSE…
Bring your attention to your breath.
Let it come softly—
just notice.
PAUSE…
Now gently shift your awareness
into your body.
Let your shoulders release their hold.
Unclench your jaw.
Let your hands relax.
Soften your belly.
PAUSE…
Now, begin to scan your body
slowly.
Lovingly.
From the crown of your head
to the tips of your toes.
As you scan,
notice where the signals rise.
Tightness.
Tingling.
Dull aches.
A hollow space in your chest.
A pit in your stomach.
A lump in your throat.
PAUSE…
Or maybe it’s not physical at all.
Maybe it’s an emotion.
Heavy.
Unclear.
Unwelcome.
PAUSE…
What you feel is not a mistake.
It’s a message.
Not to be feared,
but to be heard.
PAUSE…
So today,
instead of rushing it away,
we sit with it.
We listen.
PAUSE…
Imagine now,
you are sitting across from it—
this sensation,
this ache,
this emotion.
What is its name?
Give it one.
Anger?
Grief?
Fear?
Loneliness?
Ache?
PAUSE…
And as you sit with it,
ask:
What are you trying to tell me?
What do you want me to hear
that I’ve been too busy
or too scared to listen to?
PAUSE…
Wait in the silence.
See what arises.
A word.
An image.
A memory.
A knowing.
LONG PAUSE…
This part of you
is not the enemy.
It is the wounded child.
The wise teacher.
The sacred messenger.
PAUSE…
And as you breathe beside it,
you might notice something shift—
because you honored it.
PAUSE…
Listening is healing.
Presence is medicine.
And compassion
is what turns pain
into understanding.
LONG PAUSE…
Namaste, Beautiful.
