So Let’s Begin…

LAKESIDE PAINTING MEDITATION SCRIPT
Breathe,
And imagine sitting on a bench,
And a paintbrush and paint,
Magically appear in your hands.
And, as you hold them,
You realize that
You can paint whatever scene
You like,
And it will appear before you.
After a moment,
You decide on a lake.
PAUSE
First, you start with the water,
Taking your brush and dipping it
In blue,
To create a beautiful
Deep indigo-colored lake.
PAUSE
Then, you dip your brush
In the brightest green,
And dash it around the lake,
Creating a lovely
Green grass encasement
For the lake.
PAUSE
After a moment,
You decide to add
Brown, muddy sides,
Protecting the lake,
And the numerous
Plants and animals
You know live there.
PAUSE
Now, with the lake
And ground complete,
You add a pair of black birds–
An anhinga,
With a long winding neck
To dive deep into the water
And catch its dinner.
And a cormorant,
Who skims the water,
Popping its head in to catch
A bug or small fish.
PAUSE
Next, you dip your brush
In a mix of silver, blue and purple,
And allow a myriad of lake fish
To evolve before you.
Soon, bass, brim, bluegill and trout
Paddle beneath the surface,
Bobbing up to catch a breath
Every once in a while.
PAUSE
Next, your paintbrush
Creates the filmy, stained-glass wings,
Of a pair of dragonflies.
Then it shapes a half dozen butterflies,
With wings of sun gold, sky blue,
And bright green.
PAUSE
Now, take in a deep breath,
And, stand back,
Observing your Lakeside Painting.
How beautiful is it?
How do you feel right now?
Peaceful?
Joyful?
Proud?
Hold those feelings.
PAUSE
After a moment,
The paint and brush dissipate,
And you know your time
With your creation is ending.
So, draw in a deep breath,
And if you can,
Paint a mental picture of your painting,
Or snap a picture of it,
So you can take it with you.
PAUSE
And, as you come back to
The here and now,
Allow yourself to hold onto
Your painting, your image,
So that any time you need
To feel the beauty,
Or the peace,
Or the pride,
Of your creation,
You can connect with it easily.
NAMASTE, BEAUTIFUL
