Today’s morning meditation is a practice that will free you from your mind through movement.
Good morning, beautiful,
Our theme this week is movement.
When our attention is focused on an activity, our mind begins to quiet and clear.
That’s why gardening, dancing, yoga, building and art and crafts are incredible practices to lessen the noise of the mind and thus are seen as “meditative” activities.
They can free you from your mind.
So today’s meditation is an invitation to be fully present within movement, so you can feel the calmness of mind that it creates.
So Let’s Begin…

FREE YOURSELF FROM YOUR MIND THROUGH MOVEMENT MORNING MEDITATION SCRIPT
So I invite you to choose a brief activity to do as you listen today.
That could be washing the dishes,
Stretching,
Folding laundry,
Or even doodling on a piece of paper.
Or, if you just don’t feel like doing anything,
That’s okay.
Just be here in a position that’s comfortable for you,
And be present to the words.
PAUSE…
As you begin your activity,
See if you can let go of those expectations you might have for what a meditation is supposed to be,
And instead,
Trust this practice today,
Surrendering yourself fully to the words,
The music,
And the activity you’ve chosen.
PAUSE…
The guidance here will be brief,
So that you can submerge yourself in the movements of your activity.
PAUSE…
Take a big, deep breath in,
Filling your lungs and your belly with the fresh air of the morning,
And as you breathe out,
Release your thoughts,
Your emotions,
And give yourself to your activity.
PAUSE…
Embrace it fully,
Whatever movements occur,
And just allowing yourself to concentrate on the movement of your body,
And the rhythm of your breath.
PAUSE…
When thoughts arise,
Just breathe them out with your exhale,
And return your attention to your activity.
LONG PAUSE…
The music will continue here for awhile,
Accompanying you as you complete your activity,
And practice the freedom that comes as you concentrate on your movement,
Rather than your mind.
