So Let’s Begin…
FORGIVENESS AND FREEDOM MORNING MEDITATION SCRIPT
Let the mind slow,
And the body soften.
Taking time for yourself
May not happen often.
PAUSE
So, give yourself this time,
This precious space,
You are deserving,
And can’t be replaced.
PAUSE
Now, take a minute,
And let thoughts of life go by.
Are there hurts or pains
That left you sidelined?
PAUSE
So, take a minute
And slowly see that pain,
Try to visualize it from a distance
So there’s no refrain.
PAUSE
And, now breathe into those hurts
That linger from the past.
Visualize your breath healing
So they no longer hold you back.
PAUSE
And, now comes the challenge,
So take a deep breath or two.
And ready yourself to forgive
Those who’ve hurt you.
PAUSE
Take it gentle and slow,
Breathing deep all the way,
And remember forgiveness
Is a gift for you–
It’s not something you give it away.
PAUSE
And while growing in your forgiveness–
This great gift to you–
Remember that, for centuries,
writers and poets and musicians
Have shared this gift, too.
PAUSE
For, without forgiveness,
We can’t understand
Why we aren’t moving on,
Why we’re stuck in quicksand.
PAUSE
So, breathe in the freedom,
Its power is limitless.
And know this doesn’t mean
Your hurt is frivolous.
PAUSE
In the words of Maya Angelou,
“Forgiveness is the key
To action and freedom.”
In other words…
It gives you the power to move on.
