FEELING ALONE IN A CROWD MORNING MEDITATION SCRIPT
It happens to us all.
That feeling of being alone
In a crowd of people,
Or a gathering,
Or even an intimate group.
So breathe.
PAUSE
Breathe in peace,
And breathe out the fear.
Label the fear–the fear of being alone.
Say “goodbye” to it,
Release it,
And watch it
Dissipate in the air.
PAUSE
Now, imagine yourself
At a large gathering.
You don’t know anyone.
So, take a minute to
Center yourself,
To breathe out
The anxiety.
PAUSE
Now, envision yourself
Closing your eyes in this group,
Taking a pause,
So you can turn inward.
PAUSE
And, while focusing inward,
Imagine turning on a bright light,
A light that shines all the way
Through you.
PAUSE
Watch as the light
Becomes brighter,
And brighter,
Until every inch of you
Glows with light.
PAUSE
Now, imagine hearing music,
A favorite song–
A danceable song.
Let your toe tap
To the rhythm.
PAUSE
Keep listening,
And let your body
Move to the beat.
Open your eyes and
Keep moving,
Until you’re dancing.
PAUSE
Now, see yourself
Dancing at the gathering,
Letting that inner light
Shine, shine, shine,
So everyone sees it.
PAUSE
Soon, you’re smiling,
And as you smile,
Others smile.
Others wave.
Others come to dance with you.
Your light is so bright,
PAUSE
Your are you
In the brightest way possible,
With others seeing you
For who you are,
And appreciating you.
They are attracted to your light.
PAUSE
Now, hold onto that light,
Keep that smile in place,
And carry them with you
Through the day.
And know that you can
Turn on or off that light
At any time.
