So Let’s Begin…
ALONE IS NOT LONELY MORNING MEDITATION SCRIPT
Settle in.
And find your calm center.
Place your hand
Gently on your midsection,
And release any tension,
Any stress.
PAUSE
Now, breathe deeply,
Slowly.
Deeply.
Feel your hand
Rise and fall
As it rests
On your midsection.
PAUSE
Living alone. Being alone.
These can sometimes be tough.
And, there are times in life
When we compare ourselves to others.
We see their partner, their marriage,
The children they have.
And we feel lonely.
PAUSE
Take a moment,
And acknowledge the loneliness.
Now, follow it.
Follow the loneliness inside you.
Where does it live?
How does it make you feel?
PAUSE
Allow yourself to sit
With the feeling of loneliness.
PAUSE
Now, breathe.
Breathe into the loneliness.
Visualize what your loneliness looks like.
And with each breath,
Imagine the loneliness
Breaking apart.
PAUSE
First, small pieces break off.
Then, as you breathe,
Larger and larger pieces
Fall away.
PAUSE
And, as the loneliness fades,
Imagine a single, purple flower
Pushing up from the remnants.
A beautiful, resilient flower.
And now, imagine yourself as the flower.
PAUSE
Notice there are no other flowers,
No other blossoms around you.
This magnificent purple flower–
That is you–
Stands alone in all its beauty.
PAUSE
Now, pause for just a moment,
And breathe in the beauty,
Resilience and strength
Of being alone.
Notice it’s different from loneliness.
PAUSE
As you breathe,
A soft whisper comes to you:
“Alone is not lonely.”
You repeat it:
“Alone is not lonely.”
You feel it:
“Alone is not lonely.”
PAUSE
And then the whisper changes,
And you repeat it:
“Alone is beautiful.
I am alone.
I am beautiful.”
“Alone is resilient.”
I am alone.
I am resilient.”
“Alone is strong.
I am alone.
I am strong.”
PAUSE
Remember,
Alone is not lonely,
But it is many things
That are you.
Carry those with you always,
So whenever you’re by yourself,
You’re not lonely–
You’re alone.
NAMASTE, BEAUTIFUL
