A MEDITATION FOR WHEN GRATITUDE FEELS HARD MEDITATION SCRIPT

Close your eyes, dear one, and rest,

Lay down your worry, your heavy chest.

There’s no need to pretend you’re okay,

Not every heart can give thanks today.

PAUSE…

Sometimes the joy is just out of reach,

And silence is all the soul wants to teach.

You ache for a reason to feel at peace,

Longing for sorrow or stress to cease.

PAUSE…

This space is yours to simply be,

You owe no smiles to you or me.

You’re not ungrateful, cold, or wrong,

Just weathering storms that feel too strong.

PAUSE…

So here, we make a softer start,

Not forcing joy upon the heart.

But noticing one small, quiet grace,

That gently warms this shadowed space.

PAUSE…

A flicker of light, a breeze in your hair,

The way your breath still fills the air.

The feel of your body, tender and true,

Carrying pain, but carrying you.

PAUSE…

Gratitude doesn’t have to be loud,

It doesn’t need to lift every cloud.

It might be a whisper, shy and small,

Tucked in the corners, barely at all.

PAUSE…

It might be the warmth of a cup in your hand,

Or the knowing that someone might understand.

It might be the quiet of time to reflect,

A moment of pause you didn’t expect.

PAUSE…

You are allowed to not feel light,

To move through darkness, to hold the night.

But even here, you are still seen,

Held by life, soft in between

PAUSE…

So breathe in now, no need to strive,

Gratitude waits when you arrive.

Not as a duty, not as a chore,

But as a hand at your soul’s front door.

PAUSE…

It won’t rush in or ask you to smile,

It simply sits with you a while.

And when you’re ready, it may begin—

A gentle opening from within.

LONG PAUSE…

So for now, rest where you are.

Even dim light is still a star.

PAUSE…

May your breath be your prayer,

May your stillness be your guide,

May the tiniest thanks

Be enough to reside.

PAUSE…

Namaste, Beautiful.
