On the Verge of Tears Sleep Meditation

Tonight’s sleep meditation will help you relax deeply into sleep and process the emotions that are causing you to be on the verge of tears.

Cover yourself in soothing sheets of compassion tonight,

As the tears tremble behind your eyes.

You may or may not know why they’re there.

You may or may not want the dam to burst.

So just call your body to breathe and relax,

And simply honor the emotions that have brought them here.

So Let’s Begin…

ON THE VERGE OF TEARS SLEEP MEDITATION SCRIPT

Rest now,

Settling yourself deeply into the softness of your bed.

Moving around a bit,

And finding your special spot.

Then breathe in fully,

Filling yourself all the way up,

And then exhale,

And release yourself deeper into your bed.

PAUSE…

Come into your breath.

Inviting your mind to dance with the rhythm of your breathing.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

In,

And out.

So you can come inside.

PAUSE…

Relax your shoulders,

And release the tension in your jaw.

Soften every muscle in your face,

From the crown of your head,

Down to your chin.

Feel your arms and your legs get heavier on your bed.

PAUSE…

There are layers of emotions here,

Blankets laying atop blankets laying on top of you.

Each has its own story,

Its own details,

Its own reason for being here.

And the weight of them has created these tears.

PAUSE…

It’s okay,

You are okay.

These blankets,

These tears,

This weight,

It’s all normal,

And part of what makes you so special.

PAUSE…

So take a moment, dear one,

And just let it all be here within you.

Surrendering to the emotions,

Surrendering to the tears,

And letting it all be okay.

LONG PAUSE…

If the tears emerge,

Let them.

Allow them to flow into the tender embrace of the night.

PAUSE…

If your body needs to move,

Let it.

Invite it to release the emotions within it.

LONG PAUSE…

Imagine yourself opening up,

As you face the stars above.

Releasing the tension inside,

As layer by layer,

The blankets of emotions gently evaporate into the night.

PAUSE…

Give them to the night,

Your emotions,

Your tears,

The deep pieces of you that you cannot name.

Open yourself up,

And let them go.

PAUSE…

Watch as they float away,

Far into the depths of the galaxies.

While you remain here.

Lighter,

Calmer,

And beautifully raw.

PAUSE…

Let the tears come,

Let the emotions release,

As they float away from you,

Deep into the twinkle of the stars.
