Follow Your Own Path

This meditation will help you to invoke the clarity and confidence it takes to follow your own path.

Follow Your Own Path Meditation

Every single day, you are bombarded with messages telling you how to live your life. How to raise your kids. How to find and keep a loving relationship. How to be successful. How to be happy.

These messages come from our culture at large, our communities, our families and even from ourselves. And they’re mostly given with a loving intention.

But no one, my dear, knows what the best path is for you.

Only YOU know that. Only YOU have the wisdom to design a life that is truly, authentically, and unapologetically yours.

So the intention of today’s meditation is to invoke the clarity and confidence it takes to follow your own path. To live from the inside out, letting your inner voice powerfully design the life you’re living every single day, rather than succumbing to the external scripts so abundantly available.

So Let’s Begin…

MEDITATION SCRIPT

So let’s begin by getting into a position that’s comfortable for you, perhaps you’re sitting in your favorite chair or even lying down.

Close your eyes and as you do, let yourself relax deeper into your position,

Feeling your eyes get heavier, feeling your arms and your legs get heavier.

And imagining your entire body melting as it relaxes,

Dropping your shoulders,

Softening your belly,

Releasing your jaw.

And just breathe as you sink into this follow your own path meditation.

PAUSE…

Let your breathing deepen,

Inhaling just a little more with every breath in,

And exhaling just a little longer with every breath out.

Feeling the oxygen tingle inside your body.

And just be here for a bit.

One with your breath.

One with the rhythm of your body.

One with this moment.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Be here.

PAUSE…

Reflection to follow your own path
whoPhotographer: Roberto Delgado Webb | Source: Unsplash

What you experience in your life on the outside,

Is a reflection of what you’ve created on the inside.

To create anew first requires you to let go of what is currently there.

So let go of the stories of how life should be for you,

Let go of the expectations you have of yourself.

And of the expectations others have of you.

Let go of the responsibilities you currently have.

And even the identities you have taken on,

And let yourself simply BE.

Let yourself follow your own path.

Let yourself live here, in this moment, naked. Completely detached from the life you live “out there.”

Just for this moment.

PAUSE…

I want you to imagine yourself floating in space, looking down on our planet.

You feel light.

Notice the silence.

Notice the calm.

You look down on Earth and can see the life you’re living down there.

Notice what you feel as you look down.

What makes you smile about your life down there?

What makes you stressed?

What brings you joy?

What don’t you like?

From this space, hovering above the Earth, outside of your daily life,

You realize how little time you actually have here during this lifetime.

You realize how precious each moment is, how magical each being is.

How divine your entire existence is as its connected to every other element on the planet.

And so you decide how to best follow your own path.

PAUSE…

You decide to do it a bit differently.

More intentionally.

More authentically.

More meaningfully.

And you know that your inner voice is the one who will guide you.

So what is she saying to you right now?

Who are you?

What do you truly want right now?

What really matters?

How do you want to follow your own path?

What are you willing to let go of?

What do you crave more of?

What needs to change?

What path do you see in front of you?

For the next few minutes, I invite you to surrender to the silence, giving yourself a chance to just listen. Without an agenda. Without expectations. Without forcing.

Just listen.

PAUSE…

You are the creator of your life.

And you are the one who gets to decide what that life looks like.

Every single day.

What a beautiful gift!

Breathe it in…

Your path is yours to design.

And this is where it starts.

With you.

Your voice.

Your truth.

Your light.

All you have to do is go inside and listen.

Namaste, Beautiful.
