So Let’s Begin…

CELEBRATING MOTHERS: YOU’VE DONE ENOUGH: A SOOTHING MEDITATION FOR MOTHERS TO LET GO AND SLEEP SCRIPT
There comes a time in the night when the world quiets,
When the lists stop running,
When the hands stop working,
When the heart, so used to holding,
Longs to be held.
PAUSE…
You, dear one, have done enough.
You have poured yourself into the day,
Given your love in a thousand unseen ways,
Answered every call, every cry, every need.
PAUSE…
Now, it is your time to receive.
The night is here to hold you.
The silence is here to soothe you.
PAUSE…
Let it.
Let go of the weight you carry,
Let go of the thoughts still circling,
Let yourself be at ease.
LONG PAUSE…
So breathe now.
Let yourself be carried into rest.
PAUSE…
Settle into your bed,
Let the sheets cradle you,
Let the mattress beneath you take on the weight of your body.
PAUSE…
Close your eyes,
And bring your awareness inward.
PAUSE…
Breathe in deeply,
And as you exhale, feel the first layer of tension unravel.
PAUSE…
Let your breath flow slowly,
Softly.
LONG PAUSE…
With each inhale,
Feel yourself being gathered,
Collected,
Brought back to yourself.
With each exhale,
Feel the day dissolving,
Drifting far, far away.
LONG PAUSE…
Now, bring your attention to your mind.
Like a river that has been rushing all day,
Let it now slow to a gentle stream.
PAUSE…
Let the thoughts that remain float by,
Not needing to be held,
Not needing to be solved.
PAUSE…
Just let them drift.
Like leaves upon the water,
Carried away by the current of sleep.
PAUSE…
Now, feel your body—
Your shoulders, your hands, your heart—
Releasing all they have carried.
PAUSE…
There is nothing more to do.
Nothing more to hold.
Nothing more to be.
PAUSE…
Let yourself sink,
Let yourself soften,
LONG PAUSE…
Sweet Dreams, Beautiful
