The night has come and it’s time to rest.
Though your body is still, your brain won’t shut off.
It feels as though it’s spinning with tasks left to do, ideas to explore and emotions to process.
So the intention of this meditation is to help you relax your body and soothe your mind, so you can peacefully drift off to sleep.
So Let’s Begin…

SLEEP MEDITATION MINI SERIES – WHEN YOUR BRAIN WON’T SHUT OFF AT NIGHT MEDITATION SCRIPT
Allow yourself to settle into your most favorite sleeping position, whether that’s on your back or your side or even on your belly.
Let your body move and adjust so you can nestle yourself in nice and cozy,
Imagining your blankets and sheets softly embracing you, inviting you to surrender deeper into their comfort.
And then go ahead and take a deep breath in, letting the air flow in all the way down to your toes, expanding your entire body with fresh air.
And exhale all the air out, releasing your day, letting its events, thoughts and worries leave through your outbreath.
Breathe in deep again, inviting in soothing air.
And breathe out, releasing your day.
Bring your breathing to its normal rhythm,
And let your attention stay on your breath.
Noticing its cadence,
Its sounds,
It’s ability to slow down your heartbeat,
The movement it creates with your body.
Just breathe…
PAUSE…
You may notice your mind calling for your attention.
Perhaps even in this state of relaxation, your mind still feels like it’s moving fast with thoughts.
So see if you can imagine each of those thoughts as a photograph, with the picture representing what it is.
Maybe one of those photos is a picture of work still needing to be done.
Perhaps one photograph is of your messy house, needing a clean.
Maybe there’s a picture of someone you love, or perhaps one of those photos is even something you’re really worried about right now.
One by one, place those racing thoughts that won’t let your brain shut off into a photo.
And then watch as those photos rain down upon you, one by one falling onto the floor at your feet.
Take a moment to put each of your thoughts within a photograph,
And then watch it rain.
PAUSE…

Feel your body melt deeper into your bed as you see the floor littered with these photographs.
These thoughts are outside of you.
They lay here on your floor, outside of your head and ready to let you sleep.
So allow yourself to feel the heaviness of your body on your bed,
Letting each breathe out bring you deeper into relaxation.
PAUSE…
If you find yourself lost in thoughts again, simply place it in a photograph, and watch drifts onto the floor around you.
PAUSE…
These thoughts will be here for you tomorrow if you want them, beautiful.
Let them be here, on the floor, outside of you, so you can sleep deeply.
PAUSE…
Melt further into your bed with every exhale.
Letting yourself surrender into sleep.
Breathe.
Breathe.
Let those thoughts float to the floor,
So you can sleep.
Namaste, Beautiful
