EARTH MEDITATION SCRIPT

Breathe,
Taking a deep breath
Through the nose,
And then gently exhaling.

PAUSE

Keep breathing,
And feel yourself
In this present moment.

PAUSE

Now, imagine yourself as a tree,
Tall with branches and leaves,
Reaching toward the sun.

PAUSE

Feel yourself,
Strong and secure.

PAUSE

Now, imagine if you can,
Seeing your roots below,
A network of branches
Firmly planting you
In the ground,
Supporting you.

PAUSE

Now, pause,
And visualize one of the roots,
As part of your support system.
Who or what is it that creates your anchor?

Take a minute to reflect.

PAUSE

Now, look at another root,
And, again, visualize it
As part of your support system.

Take a moment to reflect.

PAUSE

Now, breathe again,
And, as you do,
Imagine yourself
As the tree with roots.
This time, see the roots
Connecting you to the Earth,
Grounding you
In stability and security.

How does it feel?

PAUSE

Keep the image in your mind,
And now, see the roots
As taking in nourishment for you,
Giving you strength,
Letting you express yourself fully.

Hold onto that image.
Hold onto the feelings it brings.

PAUSE

Now, become aware
Of the present again,
All that surrounds you.

And, as you do,
Breathe and feel
The strength of the Earth
In you,
The roots that anchor you,
The roots that nourish you.
And carry that stability and security
With you through your day,
So you can express who you are comfortably.
